14th Annual Anniversary Gala

This evening’s event serves as a community fundraiser aimed at advancing our mission to reduce gun violence in New York City and foster a safe environment for everyone. We kindly request your generous support for the GodSquad’s ongoing efforts in providing solace to families affected by gun violence across our city.

We are asking for your generous support towards the work of The GodSquad today, as we continue to bring healing to families impacted by gun violence directly throughout New York City. These individuals are not just statistics; they are our neighbors, fellow community members, and congregants. Through our work, we endeavor to transform their anguish into empowerment with a profound sense of empathy following the devastation wrought by gun violence.

We are on a mission to heal and empower communities impacted by gun violence with our holistic, faith-based approach. Your contribution to our fundraiser directly supports the following program:

1. Flatbush Leadership Academy (FLA) mentors young people aged 14-24 in Central Brooklyn, fostering a creative and safe space for them to develop leadership skills, entrepreneurship, and academic success while amplifying their voices. We have successfully graduated 222 young adults in 4 years.
2. The NextGen Network, aiming to support youth (13-24) affected by the criminal justice system, has graduated 27 youth so far and currently serves over 40 justice-involved youth in our cohort-based program.
3. Mothers for Safe Cities, a healing and empowerment network, actively provides bereavement services and victim support to 106 families who have been affected by gun violence by turning their pain into purpose.
4. We have provided support to over 20 single parents and 10 families from our Single Parents University by equipping them with the necessary tools and strategies needed to tackle challenges and triumphs, improve life skills, and nurture family relationships.
