#GivingTuesday is a global movement that encourages people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity during the holidays. Every year, The GodSquad works directly with families impacted by gun violence.

Here's where your kind donations will go:

  • Partial College Scholarship for Our Youth; Total scholarship is $1,000.00. The scholarship is awarded to two youth participants per cohort that express great interest in pursuing higher education and have a strong dedication to eradicating gun violence in our community. The scholarship is to be awarded during their first semester of college AND will be used solely for tuition, books, fees, and/or other educational expenses. As a donor to this scholarship fund, you may choose to donate anonymously or have your name be included in the award.
  • Sponsor Youth Participant for Mentorship Program; All of our youth participants ages 15-24 get paired with a mentor. Your support will go towards funding their outings together including covering meal and transportation costs.
  • Gift Basket for Victims of Violence; Help us bring a little joy to the holiday season for the victims of violence in our network. For some, this Thanksgiving and Christmas will be the first one without their child. For other parents in our network, the holidays are still a tough time filled with painful memories.
  • One Mental Health Counseling Session; Will be provided directly to the victims of violence in our network
  • Metrocard for Youth Mentorship Program Participants; This eases the burden on our participants to be able to join our weekly sessions

We are asking for your generous support towards the work of The GodSquad today, as we continue to bring healing to families impacted by gun violence directly throughout New York City. These are our neighbors, our community members, our congregations. We work to turn their pain into purpose with a distinct level of empathy after the tragedy of gun violence.

We are on a mission to heal and empower communities impacted by gun violence with our holistic, faith-based approach.

We envision a world where The GodSquad responds, rebuilds and restores hope for safe communities beginning with dignity for all.

Our values are represented in one word; SAFE.

  • Support for families impacted by gun-violence
  • Advocate for support and resources to rebuild communities
  • Forge community partnerships
  • Empower individuals through personal development

Please know that your voice, your time, and your heart are appreciated. Additionally, we are accepting donations of brand new socks, thermals, warm clothing and gently used coats for vulnerable families living in the East Flatbush Shelter. Donations are being collected at Mt. Zion Church of God 7th Day at 203 E 37th Street Brooklyn, NY 11203 now and through December 12th, 2022.
